NIMBUS Biotechnology is a leading provider of high-throughput assays, based on the well-known proprietary TRANSIL® technology for assessing ADME related parameters and for the prediction of ADME behaviour of new chemical entities. The NIMBUS TRANSIL® platform is a patented bead based assay technology allowing for the biofunctionalization of solid supports and enabling the company to develop innovative cutting-edge assays for drug discovery processes.

TRANSIL®  ADME Assays are innovative screening tools giving early access to some of the most important ADME related parameters like Lipophilicity/Membrane Affinity (characterizes intestinal absorption of the compounds) and Serum/HSA Binding (mainly responsible for drug distribution).  Both are accessible in high-throughput. TRANSIL® “ready-to-go” plates (384/96well) are easily adaptable to all major screening platforms; state of the art read-out (UV, HPLC, LC/MS) is supported. Our standard assays are exclusively distributed worldwide by Molecular Devices Corporation (Sunnyvale, CA; Nasdaq: MDCC).

ADME Prediction using PK-Map™, developed by Bayer Technology Services (Germany), allows an internal ranking of a given subset of compounds based on the output parameters unbound fraction (fu), volume of distribution (Vss), organ/plasma partition coefficients (Korg), fraction absorbed (fa) and intestinal permeability (Peff). The high-quality estimates of ADME and PK properties by PK-Map™ allows a very early rational assessment of PK behavior, which was traditionally only possible using expensive in-vivo experiments. The sophisticated physiology-based pharmacokinetic models were validated by Bayer Health Care (Germany) and the results were published some where else. Consequently, PK-Map™ supports optimization and selection decisions from the very beginning of a drug development project.

'Just married: in vitro and in silico' – is the new slogan of NIMBUS SCREENING, the new service department of NIMBUS Biotechnology. The compound profiling service is an unique combination of in vitro assays and in silico prediction and provides a maximum of information for first compound`s profiling, hit to lead projects and lead optimisation. Due to our new online-report feature you will keep track of your compound results during the entire service project. It supports your decisions at all stages of drug discovery by a maximum of information and fast turnaround time lines. Send us your compounds today!
