A comeback with a huge problem. Players lose their save collectively, Housmarke warns: “Don’t start the game.”

This wasn’t supposed to be the case with Returnal after a recent update. The creators made a mistake, due to which many users lost access to the save state – victims will have to start the game from scratch. The studio advises not to release placements before the next correction is released.

Yesterday Housemarque released a new update to Sony serversHowever, it only took a few minutes for early players to report a major inconvenience – losing access to game states. There are reviews from PlayStation 5 customers who have already completed the story and have dealt with the additional flavors of the plot that the developers have hidden (the title offers a lot of endgame), but the premiere of the patch means some fans of the game genre have to start the adventure on Atrobus again.

Bugs are reported frequently and by many players Housemarque had to respond quickly. The creators issued a short statement and requested that the production not run:

“To be safe, Do not run the game before sharing and downloading the next patch.

There have been opinions on the web that even an incomplete patch download affects the loss of gameplay states, which is why the Finnish team is so vehemently asking you not to bring up Selene’s story.

Admittedly, this is an unusual situation which can cause many problems. Although some recipients had difficulty saving before patch 1.3.3, the latest update was pulled and fortunately the update exacerbated the issues.
