Increasing the speed of trains running on the Central Railway Main Line to 250 km / h is to enable work on the Grodzisk Mazowiecki – Zawiercie line. The tender on this issue was announced by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe – Informed Director of Railway Infrastructure.

The tender announced by PLK covers track work and traction network organization in CMK and adjacent sliding roads. Train traffic will be maintained during the works. High-performance machines should be used for works on the 220 km Grodzisk Mazowiecki – Zawiercie line. For smooth passage at the selected sites, it is planned to clean the bars, beams and ballast.

As you know PLK, The value of the bid is approximately 200 million PLN. The investment will shorten train travel times on long-distance routes between Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice and Wroclaw, and improve the attractiveness of communications from the Świtokrzyskie and ód regions.

Track work is scheduled for 2022-2023.

Currently, it is on the main line road of the Central Railways, among other things, the road arches.

According to the PLK, at the end of 2023, after the completion of the necessary work and the launch of the ERTMS / GSM-R communication system and the ETCS Level 2 system, trains are planned to operate at a speed of up to 250 km / h on the CMK line.
