Results of the second edition of “A Polish Heart Broken. Katyn 1940” – Congratulations! The Ministry of Education and Science

– Congratulations and thank you. You give us a guarantee that in the future you will defend our homeland against totalitarianism and criminal regimes based on lies – the Minister of Education and Science told the winners of the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Field Marshal Elipita Wittick referred to tragic historical events that we cannot forget.

In April 1940, the Soviets brutally murdered nearly 22,000 innocent Poles simply because they were Polish. And she assured that we cannot forget that. – Among them were prominent leaders of the Polish army, police, intelligence, counterintelligence, engineers, world-famous scientists, poets, writers, journalists and social activists, in one word: Polish intellectuals – said Elipita Wittek. The truth of the Katyn massacre was forged decades ago, and erasing it from the consciousness and memory of Poles was the goal of the communist authorities. Alybaita Wittek recalled the words of the late President Lech Kaczynski, who was due to fall during the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre, April 10, 2010. – Just as the Katyn lie was the foundation of the People’s Republic of Poland, the truth of Katyn is the foundation of the Free Republic of Poland. Today, when we look at Katyn, we see a damned place for Poles. A place where the Polish heart simply broke – Marshal Wittick assured.
